Water for Peace.

Tomorrow is World Water Day.

This year's theme is Water for Peace – the United Nations reminding us that "when we cooperate on water, we create a positive ripple effect – fostering harmony, generating prosperity and building resilience to shared challenges. We must act upon the realization that water is not only a resource to be used and competed over – it is a human right, intrinsic to every aspect of life". And, we would add, it must be managed as such.

We launched Baseform nine years ago in the belief that making rational decisions based on available data can help everyone contribute to that crucial goal. Nine years later, it's good to know that it is used to manage water for 37 million people, and has helped save over one billion m3 of drinking water from being wasted. No more than a small ripple, but as the UN suggests, many ripples together become a bigger ripple.
